Prior to joining HL Kong Medical Oncology Centre in July 2009, Dr. Wong was a Senior Consultant Medical Oncologist at the National Cancer Centre, Singapore, Visiting Consultant to Changi General Hospital and Clinical Teacher at the Yong Loo Lin Medical School, National University of Singapore. She is currently a Visiting Consultant at the National Cancer Centre.Dr Wong received her MBBS from the National University of Singapore in 1994, followed by her Membership to the Royal College of Physicians (United Kingdom) in 1998. She received her post-graduate training at the Duke University Medical Center, USA, and subsequently pursued breast cancer research at the Washington University in St. Louis, USA from 2002 to 2003. In 2003, she received her specialist qualification in Medical Oncology and was elected to be a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore. Dr Wong obtained the European Certification in Medical Oncology from the European Society of Medical Oncology in 2004. In 2008, she received the Graduate Diploma in Acupuncture from the Singapore TCM College, Ministry of Health, Singapore. Dr Wong specialises in the management of adult cancers, with a special interest in breast cancers. Her research interests include pharmacokinetics of cancer drugs and breast cancer gene profiling. She is the principal investigator of several international breast cancer clinical trials, which are pivotal in the continued effort to improve cure rates of breast cancer. Dr Wong was previously a member of the Cancer Therapeutics and Research Group, which coordinates cancer research efforts in Singapore, Hong Kong, Korea, Australia and Taiwan. Dr. Wong has numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals and has also presented at many international as well as regional oncology-related meetings. Dr. Wong was a former Board Member of the Chapter of Medical Oncologists, Singapore, and is active in breast cancer community projects.
